Arrival in Tanzania

Day 2

Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

Driving Distance: ~45 km
Driving Time: 1–1.5 hours
Hiking Distance: 8 km
Hiking Time: 4–5 hours

Drive to Marangu Gate for registration before beginning your climb through the lush rainforest to Mandara Hut, where towering trees and playful colobus monkeys welcome you.

Day 3

Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

Leave the rainforest behind as you trek through the beautiful heath and moorland zone, enjoying magnificent views of Mawenzi Peak.

Day 4

Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Day 5

Summit Day & Return to Horombo Hut

Begin your summit attempt shortly after midnight. Reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the Roof of Africa, before descending back to Horombo Hut for a well-earned rest.

Day 6

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

Complete your descent through the rainforest to Marangu Gate, receive your summit certificate, and return to Moshi for your overnight stay.

Day 7

Moshi to Tarangire National Park
