Day 1

Arrival in Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your Royal Horizon Tours representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi. Meet your mountain guide for a climb briefing and equipment inspection.

Day 2

Rongai Gate to Simba Camp

Driving Distance: ~130 km
Driving Time: 3–4 hours

Hiking Time: 3–4 hours

Drive to Rongai Gate near the Kenya border before beginning your climb through peaceful forests and beautiful mountain landscapes to Simba Camp.

Day 3

Simba Camp to Second Cave

Hiking Distance: 6 km

Continue your gradual ascent across open moorland while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness.

Day 4

Second Cave to Kikelewa Camp

Hiking Distance: 6 km

Climb steadily toward Kikelewa Camp, where giant groundsels and spectacular mountain scenery surround your campsite.

Day 5

Kikelewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp

Hiking Distance: 5 km
Hiking Time: 4–5 hours

Reach the beautiful Mawenzi Tarn beneath the dramatic peaks of Mawenzi, one of Kilimanjaro's most scenic camps and an excellent location for acclimatization.

Day 6

Mawenzi Tarn to Kibo Hut

Hiking Distance: 8 km
Hiking Time: 5–6 hours
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Cross the alpine desert between Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks before arriving at Kibo Hut, your base camp for the summit attempt.

Day 7

Summit Day & Descent to Horombo Hut

Hiking Distance: 22 km
Hiking Time: 11–14 hours
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Begin your summit attempt shortly after midnight. Reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa, before descending to Horombo Hut for a well-earned rest.

Day 8

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

Hiking Distance: 20 km
Hiking Time: 5–7 hours
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
Complete your descent through beautiful rainforest to Marangu Gate, receive your summit certificate, and transfer back to Moshi.

Day 9

Moshi to Tarangire National Park

Distance: ~260 km
Driving Time: 4–5 hours

Begin your safari in Tarangire National Park, renowned for its giant elephant herds, iconic baobab trees, lions, giraffes, zebras, and abundant birdlife.

Day 10

Tarangire to Central Serengeti
